Handmade for Ocarina Workshop in the UK by John Langley, the Alto ocarina measures 80mm (3 inches) and is tuned to A440 concert pitch. As with all our handmade ceramic ocarinas, the Alto is beautifully glazed in aquamarine and supplied complete with cord in a presentation box for safe-keeping. The Alto plays in any key, and has a range of just over one octave from D to E'.

Play your Ocarina CDs are each over 55 minutes in length, Book 4 CD being 70 minutes. Each CD contains recordings of all the tunes in the corresponding book with ocarinas and backings, and then the backings only (for you to add the ocarinas!). The recordings are of the highest quality and bring each piece of music to life.

The Ceramic Alto ocarina is identical in size and pitch to the plastic ocarinas – it has two thumb-holes which give the accurate tuning of the 6-hole ocarina.

The Complete Book has a rich variety of tunes to play. For tunes in Book 1, keep the thumb-holes closed and learn to play as if you have a 4-hole ocarina. Book 2 introduces all the technique needed for using the thumb-holes.
Book 3 and Book 4 use the full range of notes for versatile ocarina-playing style. The 128 pages in this single volume are packed with over 88 pieces of music. Check out the four CDs which are an optional add-on as they contain nearly 4 hours of recorded music to accompany your playing.
